About CPS Canada

Centre for Peace and Spirituality (CPS) Canada is a non-profit, non-political organization dedicated to promoting peace and spiritual understanding through interfaith dialogue and educational outreach. Rooted in the teachings of the Quran (the preserved word of God) and the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad, CPS Canada shares the spiritual principles of Islam, emphasizing peace, tolerance, and coexistence as universal values.

CPS Canada serves as the official Canadian representative of Maulana Wahiduddin Khan, a globally respected Islamic scholar who championed peace and interfaith harmony throughout his life. One of the organization's key efforts is distributing free Qurans to non-Muslims across Canada. These Qurans, along with thoughtfully curated supporting materials, are provided to individuals, correctional institutions, hospitals, universities, libraries, chaplain offices, and interfaith gatherings, ensuring wide access to Islam's true message of peace.

Founder: Maulana Wahiduddin Khan

Maulana Wahiduddin Khan (1925-2021) was a world-renowned Islamic scholar who presented Islam in contemporary style. He translated The Quran in contemporary English and wrote Tazkirul Quran Commentary highlighting the spiritual meaning of the Quran. He removed the veils of interpretations to dispel misconceptions and present Islam as it is enshrined in its original sources; Quran, the preserved word of God and the Sunnah, the sayings, and the actions of Prophet Muhammad. This is given in his magazines, Al-Risala (Urdu) and Spirit of Islam (English), more than 200 books, and innumerable articles, as well as audio and video lectures. Anyone who wants to know the true face of Islam in contemporary style need only to refer to his literature and talks.
